I worked on this piece for all of January. It was a difficult month for most people in this country. The black yarn felt so dark and fitting for my mood. I went through some real moments of "Why weave? What's the point?" Luckily these moments of darkness seemed to be peppered with bursts of hope and light and good. The little bits of sparkling golds and silvers taking over the dark palette felt inspiring. And just like these dark black yarns and bright golden threads, my days of despair and activism were woven together quite delicately.
